I have been licensed to practice law for over twenty-four (24) years and have maintained a general practice law firm. I have handled cases in all areas of the law, including but not limited to issues dealing with Local Government, Real Estate Law, Family Law, Criminal Law (defense), Personal Injury, Juvenile Law, School Law, Guardianship Issues (Certified), Probate and Estate Matters. I have handled appeals and have argued before the 4th Court of Appeals. I have also severed as local counsel for several individuals and large companies which I have outlined below. I am a certified mediator who has mediated several cases in all areas of the law and am bilingual.

City of Floresville City Attorney February 2018 - Present
I am presently employed as the City Attorney for the flourishing City of Floresville. My duties include, but are not limited to the following: Drafting and review of Ordinances, Resolutions, Contracts, and other legal documents which the City has an interest in; assisting in the drafting of Agenda, research and preparing oral/written legal opinions for the City Council, City Manager, and Department Heads. During my employment, I have also drafted and reviewed leases/license agreements, have attended and advised the Planning and Zoning Board and other Boards upon request. I have likewise been instrumental in assisting in training Council members and Board/Committee members on important issues such as Conflict of Interests Concerns, Disclosure Requirements, Open Meetings Act, and Freedom of Information (i.e. Open Records requests). I attend all City Council meetings and workshops, and I am also responsible for the prosecution of cases in Municipal Court. Other duties prescribed by the Charter for the City of Floresville or by Ordinance.
City of Pearsall City Attorney February 1, 2015 - January 30, 2016
During my employment as City Attorney for the City of Pearsall, my duties were varied, and included but were not limited to the following: I represented the City in litigation proceedings, I attended depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials; negotiated contract settlement agreements, met and coordinated with outside counsel regarding litigation on behalf of the City; I researched and prepared oral/written legal opinions for the City Council, City Manager, Department Heads, staff, committees, commissions, and boards; I also assisted and/or prepared City Ordinances, Resolutions, contacts and other legal documents involving the City; I negotiated/drafted and reviewed contracts, leases resolutions and ordinances, interlocal agreements; I supported and advised the City Manager, Council and Special Boards. Furthermore, I provided legal services and advice to other departments; I handled grievances and related hearing issues before the Council. I likewise attended and advised the Planning and Zoning Board and other Boards upon request; I attended City Council meetings and workshops and performed any other duties prescribed by the Charter for the City of Pearsall or by ordinance. I also handled the prosecution of cases before the Municipal Court and Truancy Court.
Webb & Zapata Counties Assistant District Attorney
My duties as an Assistant District Attorney were to handle prosecutions for the State of Texas. My duties were many – I reviewed cases, conferred with police, conferred with attorneys, attended all hearings including but not limited to bail reductions all the way to trying cases either before the Judge or to a Jury. I also provided legal advice to the police concerning police functions and duties regarding criminal matters, and I prepared police officers for trial. My focus and objective was to seek justice. During my tenure, I was assigned to County Court at Law #1 and County Court at Law #2.
