Thank you for visiting my website!  My name is Sylvia  Rodriguez and I respectfully ask for your vote and support in the upcoming election for the 81st Judicial District Judge.  “I have the experience, honesty, and integrity that is necessary for this position.”

I was born and raised in Pearsall, Texas. My parents are Petra Rodriguez and the late Nicolas Rodriguez.  I am one of thirteen (13) children. My father was a farmer and my mother was a home health care provider. As a youngster, my family and I would migrate to work in the fields of Indiana.  “My parents instilled in each child a strong work ethic, responsibility and most importantly, stressed the value of an education.”

I graduated with honors from Pearsall High School in 1981; earned a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Southwest Texas State University in 1994; and earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence in May 1997 from Texas Southern-Thurgood Marshall School of Law.  I have been licensed to practice law for over 24 years. At the beginning of my career, I  worked as an Assistant District Attorney and currently am the City Attorney for the City of Floresville and represent the State of Texas as Prosecutor for the Floresville Municipal Court. “Throughout my career, I have fought hard to protect individual rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution and the Texas Constitution. I have vast experience in all areas of the law from government law, family law, personal injury, real property, juvenile law, school law, and several other areas. I have tried cases to juries and judges all across the State of Texas and have argued before the Fourth Court of Appeals.”

“Service to my community has always been important to me.” I have served as a School Board Trustee for 13 years; have served on the State Bar Grievance Committee which oversees Attorneys; and am a proud member of the State Bar Pro Bono division and have donated hundreds of hours of legal services.  I am a supporter of the VFW, Combat Veterans with PTSD, Wounded Warriors Project, Youth Rodeo, 4H and several other organizations.

I have been married for over 33 years and my husband and I have two children.  “I am very proud of my children, my daughter is a school teacher and my son is a licensed Peace Officer.”

As your 81st Judicial District Judge I can assure you that  I  will listen to all issues and will follow the law in a fair and just manner.”
